Tower Bridge in Pink Ink is a limited edition two colour silkscreen print, printed on to a giclêe print of an original antique map. It is then hand finished with gold leaf inspired by the Japanese practice of kintsugi and limited to only ten artworks in each edition. This latest arrival from Angela Morris-Winmill is a completely new process for her and has been born out of many requests to offer her map artworks at a slightly lower price point.
Each artwork can be purchased framed for £375 or unframed for £295, if purchasing framed please allow two to three weeks for framing to be completed. If requesting a specific edition number we will try to accommodate as best as possible but this can’t always be guaranteed. Giclée printing is a high quality digital printing method using large-format inkjet printers, spraying pigment-based inks onto archival paper create fade-resistant museum-quality reproductions of fine art, photographs and digital art. The new prints offer a high quality reproduction of genuine antique maps, rather than the original map itself, with the artist’s designs of iconic city landmarks in the foreground each of which are silkscreen prints with gold leaf detailing all applied by hand. Each edition is available in a limited run of ten. The new giclée maps combine silkscreen printing and Angela’s use of kintsugi to bring her timeless antique map artworks into limited edition form. Once complete the edges of each map is subtly torn to mimic an older style map which is in keeping with the style of the originals.
