London-based artist Luke Maund creates bold, high-gloss abstract paintings that explore the relationship between colour, balance, and emotion. By limiting his palette to just two or three vibrant hues, Luke achieves striking contrasts that feel both dynamic and harmonious. We asked Luke: What draws you to this bold abstract style?
“A family bereavement inspired me to reconnect with my artistic roots, and my work evolved as a response. Life can be so complicated and messy, that’s why I try to achieve an element of simplicity in my work-to bring a nugget of clarity into an otherwise chaotic world. I hope the viewer finds some comfort in the paintings.”
